Preschool Vision Statement: Unifying Beliefs about Purpose and Pedagogy

Looking at the product of a year working with talented preschool teachers to articulate a curriculum.

It was such a gift to work with talented preschool teachers over the past year to articulate a curriculum that integrates the Early Childhood Learning Standards from the state of Connecticut.

Last summer, we first drafted the Preschool Vision statement to work to unify individual beliefs about the purpose and pedagogy – their north star. We then started crafting units in service to that north star.

This statement is designed to be public facing — accessible, brief, and compelling for all stakeholders. Here is a snippet of their draft statement:

“Relationships are at the heart of successful classrooms, regardless of age or stage. We are committed to creating and fostering a community of learners that celebrate diversity and inclusion by empowering students and families to celebrate their culture, language, heritage and unique differences. We benefit from collaboration with our families to complement the learning experience for all of our students.”
